Local Groups on Board
We have support from a range of local groups including VCC, Malborough Trails BMX club, Sopwell Community Trust (who currently hire the pavilion for prayer meetings); local primary and secondary schools, churches and the Sopwell Children’s Centre. Many local activity groups have expressed interest in using the facility, such as St Albans FoodBank, Woodcraft Folk and Play Street Café. There is also interest from local home-schoolers, home-workers and a local Repair Shed. We also have strong links with Sustainable St Albans.
*Update* Support from Local Government
St Albans District Council are fully supporting the build and together with Verulam Cycling Club have found £2.3million. However building costs have sky-rocketed and the council have asked the community to fundraise for the last £79k.
